BRELAND joins the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for an episode of "Words & Music at Home," a learning-focused digital series designed to connect with aspiring songwriters of all ages. Filmed June 16, 2021, the singer, songwriter, and producer's episode includes a conversation about his personal creative process and perspective on songwriting.
The son of gospel singers, BRELAND grew up singing in church and began producing music with his boarding school roommate, Nathan Tempro, with whom he continues to collaborate. In college, he continued to hone his vocal and arranging chops as part of an acapella group and committed himself to developing as a lyricist.
His debut single, “My Truck,” started a viral climb in 2019, and was certified platinum in early 2021, leading to collaborations with artists including Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts, Nelly, Blanco Brown, Lauren Alaina, and Chase Rice. BRELAND co-wrote two songs on Keith Urban’s 2020 album "The Speed of Now Part 1," including “Out the Cage,” and collaborated with Urban on his single “Throw It Back.”
"Words & Music at Home," featuring artist-writers including BRELAND, Charlie Worsham, and Maddie & Tae, explores the songwriting process and pairs with a step-by-step method for learning to write songs available on the Museum's website. The live season two finale (premiere: Thursday, August 26, 2021) features a real-time YouTube co-writing session with Ruby Amanfu and Sam Ashworth.
