The Country Music Hall of Fame’s 2020 inductees—Dean Dillon, Marty Stuart, and Hank Williams Jr.—are recognized in this “Live at the Hall” encore, featuring performance and interview clips from past programs at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
The compilation episode includes highlights from Dean Dillon’s 2008 “Poets and Prophets” program, Marty Stuart’s 2014 interview in partnership with Americana Music Association’s AmericanaFest, and Williams’s 2008 interview and performance in support of the exhibition “Family Tradition: The Williams Family Legacy.”
Hit songwriter Dillon performs “The Chair,” a signature song for Country Music Hall of Fame member George Strait, and discusses their relationship. (Dillon’s contributions to Strait’s body of work—including other trademark songs “Easy Come, Easy Go,” “Ocean Front Property,” and “Unwound”—defined both men’s careers.)
Marty Stuart, whose lengthy musical resume includes playing with Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash before achieving solo success, performs “Orange Blossom Special,” and remembers meeting the song’s writer, Ervin T. Rouse.
Hank Williams Jr. performs “Hand Me Down,” a song that was inspired by a note and a guitar passed down from his father, Country Music Hall of Fame member Hank Williams, and talks about his experiences touring with Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings and starting to write his own songs.
