Allison Russell performs a selection of bonus songs as part of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s “Live at the Hall” series. Here, accompanied by Larissa Maestro on cello, Russell shares live versions of “You’re Not Alone,” written for her daughter Ida and recorded for 2019’s “Songs of Our Native Daughters” album (with Rhiannon Giddens, Amythyst Kiah, and Leyla McCalla), and “Hy-Brasil,” from her 2021 solo record “Outside Child.”
For the main “Live at the Hall” program, the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist sits down with the Museum's Michael McCall to discuss her musical journey — including her work with Our Native Daughters and Birds of Chicago and crafting her first solo record — and becoming a mother.
