On stage at the Ford Theater, songwriter and singer Laura Veltz talks about music, songwriting, and making a career in Nashville, and shares acoustic performances of some of the major country hits she's written.
Among the songs Veltz performs during her 2019 Songwriter Session at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum: “Drunk Last Night,” a 2013 #1 for Eli Young Band that she co-wrote with Josh Osborne; Maren Morris hit “I Could Use a Love Song," co-written by Morris, Veltz, and Jimmy Robbins; and Dan + Shay's “Speechless," a multi-week #1 Veltz co-write with Dan Smyers, Shay Mooney, and Jordan Reynolds.
Laura Veltz also answers a busy mix of songwriting-focused audience questions, digging into what inspired her to become a songwriter, how songwriters get their songs recorded in Nashville, what three songs she wishes she'd written, and why she's still wishing Kenny Chesney would record something she wrote.
