1h 23m
The Nashville Section of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) pays tribute to the city’s trailblazing engineers during this award ceremony, their first since 2019. This program was recorded on June 2, 2024, in the Museum’s Ford Theater, and hosted by AES representatives Mike Porter, former Central U.S. Sections vice president and Nashville Section chairman, and Terry Watson, Nashville Section chairman.
During the show, Hollis Flatt, Jim Gilmore, Les Ladd, and Travis Turk received lifetime achievement awards, and Bil VornDick was awarded posthumously. Tom Clark and Andy Peck were also recognized posthumously. Photographs, audio samples, and video remembrances from the musicians, artists, and producers who worked with each honoree—including Lou Bradley, Tom Collins, Ronnie Milsap, Ron “Snake” Reynolds, Ray Stevens, and Alan Stoker—helped illustrate the impact these engineers made on the creative and technical evolution of Nashville’s studio scene.
The Audio Engineering Society (AES) is an international professional society devoted to audio technology and which unites audio engineers, creative artists, scientists, and students worldwide by promoting advances in audio and disseminating new knowledge and research.
