Mississippi singer-songwriter Hardy shares stories from his life and performs songs he has written as part of the Museum’s weekly Songwriter Session series. This program, filmed on December 06, 2025, was presented in support of the Museum's exhibition “American Currents: State of the Music”.
Hardy starts the program performing two songs, “Up Down”, and “One Beer”. During the program, Hardy also shares stories of songwriting and having his songs cut by other artists that inspired him. He gives insight into his career not only as a songwriter but as an artist. Hardy shares the story behind co-writing “Sand in My Boots,” and “God’s Country”. He concludes this program with his most recent release, “Bottomland” (2025)
In 2022, Hardy was named the BMI Country Songwriter of the year and is a three-time AIMP Songwriter of the Year. Hardy’s songs have also been recorded by Breland, Kenny Chesney, Brantley Gilbert, MacKenzie Porter, Post Malone, Jameson Rodgers, and Cole Swindell.
