Kacey Musgraves Exhibit Introduction • On Memories and Memorabilia
1m 50s
After first experiencing her Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum exhibit, “Kacey Musgraves: All of the Colors,” Kacey Musgraves reflects on what it means to be represented alongside the classic country music heroes she grew up listening to in her hometown of Golden, Texas.
“I’ve loved country music for so long,” says Musgraves, celebrating the exhibit’s opening at a private reception held at the Museum in downtown Nashville. “This building is full of immense history and talent and artifacts, and all the beautiful things that this genre is built on.”
Kacey Musgraves’s memorabilia, stage costumes, awards, instruments, and stage props were assembled inside the exhibit along a timeline, with help from her mother and grandmother and the guidance of the Museum’s curatorial and editorial staff. To Musgraves, the exhibit offers a chance to look back at her life and career. “It brings back a lot of memories, too. Things I’ve rolled on past.”
