Pat Alger and the Entrepreneur Latina Leaders of America Songwriters
1h 9m
During this songwriter round, recorded on March 16, 2024, Marta Albarracin, Brenda Coulter, Marcela Pinilla Eicher, Rachel Rodriguez, and Rosa Rodriguez perform original songs with hit songwriter and mentor Pat Alger and share the stories behind them.
In 2021, Alger became a mentor with the Tennessee Latin American Chamber of Commerce's partner program Entrepreneur Latina Leaders of America (ELLA). The twelve-month program culminated with a celebration at Nashville’s Plaza Mariachi in August 2022, but the group—with participants representing Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Spain—has continued performing together.
A Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member, Alger wrote the Garth Brooks hits “That Summer,” “The Thunder Rolls,” “Unanswered Prayers,” and “What She’s Doing Now.” He also penned “Like We Never Had a Broken Heart” (Trisha Yearwood), “Small Town Saturday Night” (Hal Ketchum), and songs for Mickey Gilley, Dolly Parton, Brenda Lee, and the Everly Brothers.
