Priscilla Renea performs songs she’s written for Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Pitbull, and Kesha, among others, during this intimate Songwriter Session at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, recorded on July 28, 2018.
The set list includes “Somethin’ Bad” (a country hit recorded by Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood), “California King Bed” (recorded by Rihanna), “Who Says” (Selena Gomez), and “Timber” (Pitbull and Kesha).
Priscilla Renea is joined on stage by collaborators Sonia Leigh (her co-writer on “Millennials” and “Lifetime”), James Slater (her co-writer on “Heavenly”), Ashley Gorley (her co-writer on “Build a House” and “If I Ever Loved You”), Chris DeStefano (“Hotel” and “Somethin’ Bad”), and guitarist John Prentice. (Many of the songs are from her album “Coloured.”)
Early in the program, Renea tells the audience, “There’s always going to be somebody who has opinion about what you should do and what you shouldn’t do. But you always have to trust your heart and do what’s inside of you and follow that.”
