Recording artist and songwriter Vincent Neil Emerson performs and tells stories behind a selection of songs he’s written, including “Ripplin’ and Wild,” “Learnin’ to Drown,” “The Ballad of the Choctaw-Apache,” “7 Come 11,” and “High on Gettin’ By,” during this episode of the “Live at the Hall” series.
Emerson’s performance was recorded on September 25, 2021, at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and presented in partnership with AmericanaFest.
Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Emerson released his self-titled second album—produced by fellow Texan Rodney Crowell, and drawing on the influence of Texas-bred songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark—in 2021.
