Learn about the life and music of Marty Stuart, a recording artist, songwriter, multimedia emissary for country music, and member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Beginning his music career as a teen, Marty Stuart has spent decades making musical history, often alongside those he calls country music’s “Old Testament masters.” He performed in the bands of fellow Country Music Hall of Fame members Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash early in his career, and in the 1980s, launched a successful solo career, releasing hit singles including “Arlene,” “Hillbilly Rock,” “Little Things,” and “Tempted.”
Since the 2000s, Marty Stuart has performed a blend of traditional country, gospel, and West Coast country-rock with his group the Fabulous Superlatives.
In 2020, Stuart was announced among the year’s class of new Country Music Hall of Fame members, alongside Dean Dillon and Hank Williams Jr.
