Richie Furay, a founding member of the bands Buffalo Springfield and Poco, performs, shares stories behind the songs he has written, discusses his career, and answers questions from the audience. Part of the Museum’s “Live at the Hall” series, this live performance was recorded on October 1, 2022, and is presented in support of the exhibition “Western Edge: The Roots and Reverberations of Los Angeles Country-Rock,” presented by City National Bank.
Joined by his daughter, Jesse Furay Lynch, Richie Furay performs the Buffalo Springfield songs “Sad Memory,” “A Child’s Claim to Fame,” and “Kind Woman,” Poco’s “Just in Case It Happens, Yes Indeed,” and Souther-Hillman-Furay Band’s “Believe Me.”
Furay also wrote “My Kind of Love” and “Nobody’s Fool” for Buffalo Springfield and “A Good Feelin’ to Know,” “Anyway Bye Bye,” and “Do You Feel It Too” for Poco. Furay was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of Buffalo Springfield and inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2015 as a member of Poco. His album “In the Country” was released in July 2022.
