From 1990 to 2001, Bowman served as vocalist and bass player for the bluegrass group Lonesome River Band, during which time their 1991 album “Carrying the Tradition” was named the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Album of the Year. Bowman has also won multiple IBMA awards for his solo music, including Song of the Year honors for “Cold Virginia Night” and “Three Rusty Nails” and three Male Vocalist of the Year awards.
