During this 2012 concert, friends and disciples of the late Jerry Reed gather to perform the singer, songwriter, master guitarist, and Country Music Hall of Fame member's original songs and covers that he interpreted with his signature finger-picking style. Guests include Thom Bresh, Craig Dobbins, John Knowles, Brent Mason, Richard Smith, Mark Thornton, Darrell Toney, and Sean Weaver, with a house band comprised of bassist Steve Bryant, drummer Ric McClure, and keyboard player Will Barrow.
Moderator and performer Smith opens the event by introducing Knowles, one of four guitarists—including Reed—designated a "certified guitar player (c.g.p)" by legendary picker Chet Atkins. Knowles reminisces about working on a book to teach Reed's songs, and performs "Blue Finger" and "Struttin'." Thornton, who played in Reed's band, performs Reed's version of "America the Beautiful" and two Reed compositions, "Twitchy" and "Little Jerry" (originally titled "Gnaw Bone").
With the house band, Sean Weaver performs "Reedology," and Craig Dobbins performs Reed's interpretation of "City of New Orleans" and Reed composition "Pickie, Pickie, Pickie."
After sharing a story he’d heard about John Lennon and Bob Dylan sitting front row at a Reed concert in New York, Darrell Toney performs the Reed version of Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right," and Reed's "Talk About the Good Times." Reed's daughter Seidina comes up from the audience to perform her father's "Almost Crazy," and in another family connection, Richard Smith and his wife, cellist Julie Adams, share their take on Reed's interpretation of Johnny Cash's "A Thing Called Love" and his "Swingin' 69."
Thom Bresh performs an "obscure" Reed song, "Good Friends and Neighbors," his own Reed tribute "Reed Between the Strings," and a medley of Reed hits "Amos Moses" and "When You're Hot, You're Hot."
During the tribute concert’s finale, Toney, Bresh, Dobbins, Thornton, and Smith gather with the house band to perform Jerry Reed's "Guitar Man."
