These bonus tracks are part of a larger program featuring Martina McBride performing, discussing her creative process, and sharing the stories behind her music with songwriters and collaborators Leslie Satcher, husband-and-wife songwriters Chris Lindsey and Aimee Mayo, and Brett Warren. At the request of McBride, the writers also performed their songs recorded by other artists. Part of the Museum’s “Live at the Hall” series, this live performance was recorded on July 12, 2022, and is presented in support of the exhibition Martina McBride: The Power of Her Voice.
In this clip, Satcher performs her song “Gypsy Boots,” which was co-written and recorded by Terri Clark, and Mayo, accompanied by her Lindsey, performs “Who You’d Be Today,” which was co-written with Bill Luther and recorded by Kenny Chesney.
Satcher wrote Martina McBride’s “For These Times” and “When God-Fearin’ Women Get the Blues,” as well as songs recorded by Deana Carter, Kellie Pickler, and Pam Tillis. Husband-and-wife songwriters Lindsey and Mayo co-wrote McBride’s single “Cry, Cry (‘Til the Sun Shines), “This One’s for the Girls,” and songs recorded by Sara Evans, Tim McGraw, Kellie Pickler, Blake Shelton.
