Drummer Eddie Bayers, a member of the 2021 class of the Country Music Hall of Fame, invites several musician friends to join him at the Museum's Ford Theater to help him showcase his playing, which has been featured on more than 150 gold and platinum albums.

During the hour-long program, held May 21, 2017, Bayers tells behind-the-scenes studio stories and performs a selection of country and bluegrass songs, including "The Yellow Rose of Texas," sung by his wife, artist Lane Brody.

Bayers and his longtime friend and colleague Steve Gibson collaborate on an instrumental so Bayers can demonstrate his hand-drum technique. Grand Ole Opry member Mike Snider and his band also join Bayers to perform "Battle Cry of Freedom," "Arkansas Traveler," "Tennessee Rhapsody," and "Movin’ Out."

A Maryland native, Bayers began his Nashville career as a keyboardist, but soon transitioned to the drums. As one of the most in-demand session drummers, he has played on recordings for such major country artists as Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, George Jones, The Judds, George Strait, and Trisha Yearwood, and he has crossed genres to play with Peter Frampton, Sting, and Steve Winwood, among others.

Bayers is also a longtime member of the Grand Ole Opry house band, and has been named ACM drummer of the year more than a dozen times.
