Recording artist RaeLynn and songwriter Nicolle Galyon perform a selection of songs during this Songwriter Session, held July 29, 2017, at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum—four months after RaeLynn released her Galyon-co-produced debut album, “Wildhorse.”
During the performance, RaeLynn shares the title track from “Wildhorse”; "Graveyard," an album cut co-written by RaeLynn, Galyon, and co-producer Jimmy Robbins; "Love Triangle," which she says describes her experience as a child of divorce; and "Lonely Call," which she co-wrote with Galyon and Rob Hawkins.
Galyon shares "We Were Us," a song she co-wrote with Jon Nite and Jimmy Robbins that became a #1 hit for Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert; "Automatic," which appears on Lambert's "Platinum" album; "God Made Girls," a RaeLynn single that the two wrote with Lori McKenna Liz Rose; and "Boy," a song she wrote just before giving birth to her son.
The two collaborators also share memories and milestones, Galyon remembering how she was matched with RaeLynn as a co-writer when the singer was only seventeen, and how competing together on television show "The Voice" led to connections and opportunities for both of them—from their own continuing collaboration to working with Lambert.
Presented in support of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum exhibition "American Currents: The Music of 2016" (March 17, 2017 through March 2018).
