Charlie Worsham • Words & Music at Home
Words & Music at Home • 37m
Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Worsham joins the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for an episode of "Words & Music at Home," a digital series designed to help inspire and inform aspiring songwriters of all ages. Worsham finds inspiration everywhere—from books to a phone call from his parents or even a lawn chair—and here during an interview filmed on July 8, 2021, shares some of his songwriting insights with Museum educator and musician Adam Ollendorff.
Worsham's first major label release, 2013's "Rubberband," produced Top Twenty hit “Could It Be,” and he's written nearly all of the songs on his albums to date, including 2021 EP "Sugarcane," which began as personal reflections from daily writing exercises. Artists including Dierks Bentley, Vince Gill, and Kip Moore have recorded Worsham's songs, and he can be heard playing banjo, guitar, mandolin, and ukulele on recordings by Eric Church, Kacey Musgraves, and Carrie Underwood.
"Words & Music at Home," featuring artist-writers including Worsham, Maddie & Tae, and BRELAND, explores the intricacies of the songwriting process, and works alongside a step-by-step method for learning to write songs available on the Museum's website.
