Joe Ely makes a special appearance at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on May 26, 2018, in connection with the opening of the exhibition “Outlaws & Armadillos: Country’s Roaring ʼ70s.” The Texas music mainstay performs songs spanning his broad musical career and shares memorable experiences from the Texas music scene of the 1970s and ’80s.
Among the songs Joe Ely performs during his Songwriter Session: “Tonight I Think I’m Gonna Go Downtown,” “Honky Tonk Masquerade,” “Satisfied at Last,” “Treat Me Like a Saturday Night,” “Magdalene,” and “All Just to Get to You.”
Ely also speaks about The Flatlanders, the country-folk group he formed with Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock, as well as his time spent touring with Country Music Hall of Fame member Waylon Jennings.
