Madison Font and Taylor Kerr, also known as country music duo Maddie & Tae, join the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to kick off season two of "Words & Music at Home," a digital series designed to help aspiring songwriters of all ages learn the art and craft of writing songs.
The ACM- and CMA Award-nominated artists co-wrote fourteen of the fifteen songs on their 2020 studio album, “The Way It Feels,” including the #1 hit, “Die from a Broken Heart,” as well as their chart-topping first single, “Girl in a Country Song.” During their "Words & Music at Home" episode, filmed June 21, 2021, with Museum educator and musician Adam Ollendorff, Font and Kerr share insights into their personally inspired songwriting approach and dig into the details of songs they've written.
"Words & Music at Home" was launched in 2020 to share the fundamentals of songwriting with a digital audience, and to encourage individual self-expression through music. The performance series, featuring artist-writers including Maddie & Tae, offers professional insights into the creative process, and complements a digital how-to resource that provides a step-by-step method for learning to write songs.
The series is a component of the Museum’s flagship educational program, "Words & Music," which has taught songwriting to more than 150,000 people since its inception in 1979.
